Owning a car is one of the most common dreams of the average teenager; obviously, it has both advantages and disadvantages.
The main advantage is certainly the bigger freedom that the owner gets driving his car: he or she can go wherever and whenever he wants, without the restrictions imposed, for instance, by bus hours or by the weather.
On the other hand, travelling by car can be troublesome: the driver may get stuck in traffic jams, or may have problems finding a place where to park – problems that are almost negligible owning a motor-cycle instead of a car. Moreover, the owner has to pay taxes and insurance policies, he or she has to keep his car in good conditions and, obviously, he or she has to buy petrol. In addition to this, the owner has to be aware of the dangers he or she can find on the road, developing therefore a greater sense of responsibility.
To sum up, I think that, although it is demanding, owning a car is a great step forward in a person’s life, because it involves an interior growth of the individual.
